Goodwill Rescue Mission of Newark, NJ is one of the oldest non-profit agencies serving the homeless in Essex County. Founded in 1896 the Mission has for over 110 years provided food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, a faith-based recovery program for men suffering from drug and alcohol abuse and a host of other services as well. The Mission currently serves 150,000 meals each year and provides close to 100,000 days and nights of shelter.
