RACE

Venue

The race starts and ends at the beautiful Montclair Art Museum.

The museum's Leir Hall provides a great indoor space for our pre and post race activities. New this year we will have access to the hall on the Friday night before the race for convenient pick-up of race bags and final pre-registration!

Course

5K Course: USATF certified two-turn mostly flat 3.1 mile course along South Mountain Ave. through the Estate Section of Montclair.

Directions

From the Garden State Parkway: Take Exit 148 (Bloomfield Avenue), make a left onto Bloomfield by doing a u-turn under the overpass. Travel West on Bloomfield Ave. approximately 2.5 miles to the Museum (on the left).


From I-280: Take Exit 8B and merge onto Prospect Ave. Travel on Prospect Ave/ Mount Prospect Ave for approximately 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Bloomfield Ave. The Museum will be on the right after about 0.5 miles.


Note: No Parking on South Mountain Ave. Parking is available on North Mountain Ave. and along Bloomfield Ave. You will be directed where to park once you reach the Museum.

Parking

Parking is available at the Montclair Art Museum, at municipal parking facitilities on Orange Road, Park Street and The Crescent, and on-street as indicated by street signs.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK AT THE WHOLE FOODS PARKING LOT OR ON SOUTH MOUNTAIN AVENUE

 

Amenities


Champion Chip timing. Custom-designed longsleeved T-shirt for 5K participants. Race bags to the first 1,000 registrants, Post-race refreshments featuring Starbucks coffee and Bloomfields Best Bagels.

 

Awards and Pledge Prizes

5K Run/ Walk Finishers: Top 3 Male and Female overall winners and
awards are three deep in the following age categories: under 10, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, etc, through 75 and over.


Individual Raising the Most Pledges:10 Free Classes at Yoga Montclair


Team Awards: Top Fundraising Team and Largest Team

History

The race began in 2005. It has grown from 250 runners in its first year to over 1000 participants in 2009.
